Charlie Willow - 8 days

"And though she be but little, she is fierce"

Sweet Charlie  -  8 days new

Can you see the giggles in her eyes? I can!
She was wide awake for most of our time together but was perfectly content
Such a precious little doll with sweet pouty lips and dainty little fingers.
I am sure she will keep her Mummy and Daddy on their toes with her preciously cheeky personality...

Our built in cameras...

There is a saying that a camera teaches you how you should see without a camera.

I know for myself as a photographer that even when I'm not peering down a lens, I find myself zeroing in on little things around me.
Focusing on the small but beautiful moments and the delicate handiwork that is on display all around us everyday. Many a time I have spotted the perfect photo begging to be captured... a beautiful sunset perfectly framed in between a canopy of trees, a teeny tiny bug peering up at me, a glance shared by two people in love, a mother kissing her child's sadness away. Of course, it is often at times like this that I don't have my camera handy; or by the time I scrabble desperately to fetch it, the moment is gone.

If only our eyes could take photographs!

Oh just imagine all the glorious memories we could make and relive over and over and over. Not to mention the freedom without 10kg of gear swinging on our shoulders. SIGH! Alas, a girl can only dream.

I have to say though, its probably a  good thing considering the intimate relationship I have with my camera even now. I would probably be constantly snapping photos, just as oblivious to the world around me as I am now with my nose pressed against my camera. At least my friends would get a good laugh out of the many times I would run into poles.

Sometimes I have to remind myself of the importance to untangle myself from the camera straps and force myself to walk away.
Slowly.
One step at a time.

The thing is, the world keeps on going around us while we are setting up and taking a photo, and as precious as the memories being captured in-camera are, there are also precious moments happening around us that want to miss out on either.

Here's a few recent snapshots taken through my secondary set of eyes.

Would you believe that this ^ ^^ is actually a grain of salt? Yep amazing!

Something Small

I debated with myself long and hard over what my first photographic blog post should be.
Something fun? Something serious? Something unusual?
I finally settled on something that I think will help you to understand me a little better
since I'm really not very good at telling people about myself.
Something personal.
However, then of course I couldn't decide on what personal thing to share with you.
Yes, I know, terrible isn't it.
Finally it came to me, and so here it is...
Something small.
Macro Photography has been a hobby of mine for a long time. I just love finding little treasures, especially in nature.
Starbursts of beauty crop up even in the most seemingly dull setting or darkest corner - If only you know to look.
  Enjoy!
